Rhino Section Manager

We are looking for a talented and experienced individual to join our rhino team as a Rhino Section Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the care and management of our rhino section, ensuring the highest levels of animal welfare and conservation standards are met.

You will work closely with our veterinary team, providing assistance with medical procedures and administering medication as needed.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week on a rota basis including weekends and bank holidays. The salary is £26,702 per annum, plus benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the care and management of the rhino section
  • Assisting with veterinary procedures and medication administration
  • Maintaining high standards of animal welfare and conservation

Requirements:

  • HND or degree level qualification in a zoological related science or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in the care and management of rhinos and other hooved species in a zoo or safari park setting
  • Leadership and management skills

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience creating educational programs and exhibits for visitors
  • Experience of working with external partners and stakeholders
  • Competency in the use of computers and basic software packages, including ZIMS software
