Job Summary

The Security Officer will be a key member of the Medway Maritime Hospital security team, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will have a strong background in security and emergency response, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a visible and high-profile presence throughout the hospital, promoting a safe and secure environment.
  • Enforce all hospital policies and procedures, including those related to security, emergency response, and patient safety.
  • Respond to security incidents and emergency calls, using reasonable force if necessary, and in line with Trust policies and legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and agencies, including the Fire Brigade, to ensure effective emergency response and security.
  • Undertake regular patrols and escorts as required, ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of security policies and procedures, ensuring they are effective and aligned with Trust objectives.

Requirements:

  • High standard of education and relevant security qualifications.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a security or emergency response role, with a strong understanding of security policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required.
  • Full clean UK/EU driving license with D1/D1E entitlement.
  • Hold a current license level 2.
