About the Role

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to fill the position of Head of Banking and Finance Policy. This role is a critical part of our Institutional Credit Management (ICM) function, which is responsible for managing credit risk activities across our Institutional Client Group organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Execute global and regional strategies for underwriting, including providing first-line-of-defense credit approval for complex transactions and balance sheet commitments.
  2. Adopt leading practices in credit analysis, underwriting, and monitoring, including the end-to-end underwriting process.
  3. Support close engagement with global and Regional Business Heads, Independent Risk, regulators, and other control functions.
  4. Facilitate relationships with key clients in Banking and Risk and with key Regulators, Internal Audit, and control functions.
  5. Manage a large, diverse, and high-performing team of Directors and SVPs.
  6. Oversee UW and IRAU team/credit associates with respect to their preparation of key deliverables.
  7. Support the Global Head of ICM FI Credit Underwriting on strategic initiatives/projects.
  8. Support VOE initiatives.
Requirements
  1. 15+ years risk/risk-related credit work experience in banking/financial institutions.
  2. L2 Senior Credit Officer designation preferred.
  3. Proven ability to effectively engage with regulators and internal control functions.
  4. Demonstrates strong ethics and integrity.
  5. Ability to see the 'big picture' in a complex environment.
  6. Can make decisions under pressure and short timeline.
  7. Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  8. Demonstrated influencing and negotiating ability, resolve conflicts amongst various constituencies.
  9. Excellent presentation skills – adept at presenting effectively to audiences of various sizes and various constituencies.
