About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Handyman to join our team at South Place Hotel. As a Handyman, you will be responsible for completing maintenance work orders from all departments in a timely manner, ensuring all equipment is in good condition with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and attend to guest repair requests, communicating with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, ensuring each day's activities and problems are communicated to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
  • Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing, electrical equipment, and other guestroom items.
  • Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related duties, including surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough clean up of the painting or repair area.
  • Display working knowledge of all engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems, including devices that interact with such programs.
  • Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, following all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that maintenance procedures and controls that are in place are adhered to, and all Breakdown/Emergency requests are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure that all firefighting equipment and associated alarm systems are in safe working order and maintained in line with local authority requirements, and all electrical equipment is in safe working order in line with regulations.
  • Execute general repairs as quickly as possible, with minimum disruption to guest services, and ensure that health and safety and other statutory regulations are always adhered to.
