About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Dunlarg Care Home, a leading provider of healthcare services in the region. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the dietary needs of our residents are met, while also maintaining a safe and positive working environment for the team.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience in a care home or healthcare environment. They will be responsible for supporting the kitchen team, planning and preparing meals, and ensuring operational standards are met.

We are committed to providing high-quality care to our residents, and we are looking for someone who shares our values and is passionate about delivering excellent service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the kitchen team in planning and preparing meals, ensuring the dietary needs of residents are met.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including stock ordering and rotation, to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement menus that cater to the diverse needs of our residents.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including HACCP and COSHH.
  • Work collaboratively with the Chef and kitchen team to maintain a positive and productive working environment.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 2 qualification in Food Safety or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a food preparation/kitchen environment.
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, and Health and Safety.
  • The Right to Work in the UK.
