**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced personal tax professional to join our team at Synergem Recruitment as a Tax Manager - Portfolio Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a progressive practice of accountants going through a period of growth.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Manage a portfolio of clients (individuals and partnerships) in relation to their personal tax returns, effectively managing all client relationships.
  • Regularly meet with and speak to clients to ensure the provision of a knowledgeable and professional level of service.
  • Deal with P11D benefits forms, HMRC queries and letters, and keep up to date with changes in tax legislation.
  • Assist in the development of less experienced colleagues, providing training and instruction where needed, and reviewing junior team members' tax returns.
  • Provide ad hoc advice on income tax and capital gains tax forms, and deal with ad hoc/simple ERS returns and basic Trust returns.
  • Liaise with tax specialists as required.

**Requirements**

  • An experienced personal tax professional currently working within a practice.
  • A high level of personal tax knowledge.
  • A proven track record in developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Able to convey specialist knowledge in an understandable manner.
  • A strong team player, willing and able to share knowledge and experience with more junior colleagues.
  • Confident and professional in approach.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful with strong organisation skills.
  • Able to manage own workload and meet deadlines in an autonomous role.
  • Highly proficient in IT, including CCH and MS Office.
  • ATT Qualified ideally or Qualified by Experience.
