Job Title: Housing Assistant - Central Arrears Team

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Central Arrears Team as a Housing Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring rent arrears, providing advice and assistance to maximize tenants' incomes, and arranging and monitoring repayment plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor rent arrears and provide advice and assistance to tenants to maximize their incomes.
  • Arrange and monitor repayment plans to ensure timely payment of rent.
  • Communicate with tenants through various methods, including face-to-face, telephone, home visits, and written correspondence.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to achieve team goals.
  • Identify and resolve problems independently, offering solutions and working to a 'Think YES' approach.
Requirements:
  • A good understanding of financial matters and additional budgeting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Resilience and strength of character to deal with challenges and hurdles.
  • Good basic knowledge of Housing Legislation and professional best practice.
