About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Head Teacher to join our team at a large SEN School in Royston. As a key member of staff, you will be responsible for undertaking overall responsibility for the school in the absence of the Head of School and leading on school examinations.

The successful candidate will have qualified teacher status and possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to work closely with staff and students to maintain the school's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of School in ongoing monitoring and evaluation of our Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Lead our staff by monitoring their progress whilst encouraging and contributing to their ongoing training and professional development.
  • Work in partnership with parents, carers, external agencies, and the wider community to foster positive relationships, thereby improving pupil achievement, personal development, and inclusion opportunities.
  • Lead, monitor, and evaluate the content and effectiveness of the school curriculum in partnership with other key members of staff whilst also monitoring student attainment and progress.

Salary: £48,000 - £53,000 per annum (L1-L6 scale)
