Clinical Safety and Pharmacovigilance Leader

As a Clinical Safety and Pharmacovigilance Leader at GlaxoSmithKline, you will play a crucial role in driving the strategy and vision of clinical safety and pharmacovigilance activities.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead medical and scientific staff within the Safety Evaluation & Risk Management (SERM) department, ensuring scientifically sound review and interpretation of data and management of safety issues.
Key Responsibilities- Scientific/Medical Expertise
- You will be an expert in clinical safety and pharmacovigilance activities, with a demonstrated record of sound judgement and decision making in safety evidence generation, benefit-risk assessment, causality assessment, evaluation of safety signals, and proactive risk management strategies.
- You will coach and mentor SERM colleagues in the scientific/medical aspects of signal evaluation methodology and risk management.
- Leadership and Collaboration
- You will lead cross-GSK activities such as safety advisory panels, interface with and assume ad hoc membership of a Senior Governance Committee.
- You will provide excellent medical/scientific judgment, strong analytical skills, proactive approach in drug safety, and a high sense of urgency.
- Industry Experience
- You will have comprehensive experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry working in Drug Safety or Pharmacovigilance.
- You will have significant pharmacovigilance experience relating to Safety Evaluation and Risk Management, encompassing both clinical development and post-marketing activities.
- You will have experience in Oncology.
