Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and document life and disability risks by reviewing applications and deciding which terms, if any, can be offered.
  • Participate in or lead projects to enhance the underwriting process and improve systems and commercial viability.
  • Ensure requests for further information are accurate and commensurate with the risk being assessed, minimizing unnecessary impact on the customer journey.
  • Identify complaints and address them quickly, highlighting root causes to ensure compliance with time limits.
  • Record work accurately daily to enable effective business decisions and communications.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, third parties, and colleagues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience underwriting protection products.
  • Thorough understanding of mortality and morbidity risk factors, as well as financial underwriting.
  • Extensive knowledge of protection products.
  • Legislative and regulatory knowledge is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
