Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our dynamic team at an innovative SEN school near Worthing in East Sussex. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment that empowers students with special educational needs to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:- Inspiring and Supporting Students: Engage with students who have a variety of special educational needs, mainly those with challenging behaviour, and provide individualized support to help them reach their full potential.
- Creating Joyful Learning Experiences: Assist with dynamic classroom activities, ensuring a safe and positive environment where students can flourish and develop essential skills.
- Providing Compassionate Care: Offer personal care when needed, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene support, with kindness and respect.
- Implementing Tailored Education Plans: Work closely with classroom teachers to deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to each student's unique needs.
- Fostering Engagement: Cultivate a nurturing and encouraging atmosphere to motivate student participation and enthusiasm.
- Collaborating for Success: Work hand-in-hand with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide comprehensive care and education.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is a plus, but not a must.
- Behaviour Management: Ability to manage and positively respond to challenging behaviour.
- Personal Care: Willingness to provide personal care as needed.
- Reliable Transportation: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential due to the school's location and potential off-site activities.
- Strong Communication and Teamwork Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.
- Patience and Empathy: Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN are essential qualities for this position.
