Personal Assistant for Young Adult with Autism

About the Role

We are seeking a Personal Assistant to support a young adult with autism in their daily life. The successful candidate will be responsible for enabling the individual to have an active social life and be involved in their local community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the individual to places they want to go
  • Support the individual while they are out and about
  • Ensure the individual's safety at all times
  • Be responsible for the individual's money and possessions
  • Think up new activities the individual might enjoy
  • Take the individual swimming and help them change at the pool
  • Keep in contact with the individual's mum

Requirements

  • A person who is active and energetic
  • Someone with knowledge of the local area
  • Someone who has access to a car they can use for work
  • Someone with an understanding of autism is advantageous
  • Someone who is flexible and reliable

Working Arrangements

We are looking for a Personal Assistant to work on a casual basis, especially during the school holidays. The successful candidate will be paid the National Minimum Wage plus 40p per mile for journeys made together in their car.
