Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting engine performance, emissions, development, and durability tests for external customers. You will work closely with clients' in-house teams to ensure that project progress meets their needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Test Delivery: Responsible for delivering engine and/or powertrain component testing programs for clients.
  • Customer Engagement: Interpret customer test procedures and requirements, ensuring all test equipment meets customer specifications and is properly maintained/calibrated.
  • Test Instruction Writing: Write clear and concise test instructions, ensuring seamless execution of test plans.
  • Daily Reporting: Provide daily status reports and end-of-test reports, detailing project progress and any issues encountered.
  • Project Liaison: Foster strong relationships with clients' in-house teams, ensuring alignment on project direction and goals.
  • Data Accuracy: Ensure accurate, repeatable, and traceable data is delivered to meet client expectations.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and diagnose faults, working collaboratively with test technicians to resolve issues efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Several years of power-engine testing/mechanical experience, preferably in a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using ETAS INCA or alternative engine calibration tools and software, as well as IT systems and corresponding software.
  • Data Management: Experience in managing data, with confidence in extracting insights and presenting findings effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, able to build rapport quickly with colleagues and clients alike.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to approach problems methodically and deliver solutions efficiently.

Desirable Skills:

  • Engine Particulate Emissions: Experience in engine particulate emissions testing.
  • Combustion Analysis: Knowledge of combustion analysis principles and practices.
  • AVL Concerto: Familiarity with AVL Concerto or similar software platforms.
  • Engine Gas Emissions Testing: Experience in engine gas emissions testing.
