The role involves developing novel algorithmic architecture towards the end goal of solving and building Artificial General Intelligence. As a Research Scientist, you'll work collaboratively within and across research fields, developing solutions to fundamental questions in machine learning, computational neuroscience, and AI.

We're seeking individuals with a strong passion for AI and a proven track record in their field. A PhD in a technical field or equivalent practical experience is required. Relevant experience, such as post-doctoral roles or a proven publication history, is highly advantageous.

**Job Description

As a Research Scientist at Google DeepMind, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, implementing, and evaluating models, agents, and software prototypes of perceptual processing.
  • Reporting and presenting research findings and developments, including status and results clearly and efficiently both internally and externally, verbally and in writing.
  • Suggesting and engaging in team collaborations to meet ambitious research goals.
  • Working with external collaborators and maintaining relationships with relevant research labs and key individuals as appropriate.
  • Collaborating with our Ethics and Governance teams to ensure our advances in intelligence are developed ethically and provide broad benefits to humanity.

Benefits and Requirements
Our estimated salary range for this position is £80,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. This includes an excellent package of benefits that support your well-being and career development.
We require applicants to have a strong background in AI and relevant experience in research and development. A PhD in machine learning, neuroscience, or computer science is preferred. If you have a passion for AI and want to be part of a cutting-edge project, we'd love to hear from you.
