Digital Waffle is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Lead to join our team in Leeds. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in cybersecurity and a strategic approach.

About the Role

This role involves taking responsibility for creating and maintaining a secure digital environment, protecting data, systems, and network infrastructure. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy, establishing and enforcing security policies, and managing real-time threat detection and vulnerability assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop Comprehensive Cybersecurity Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to protect our IT environment.
  2. Establish Security Policies and Standards: Establish, enforce, and regularly update security policies, protocols, and standards.
  3. Manage Real-Time Threat Detection and Incident Response: Manage real-time threat detection, incident response, and conduct vulnerability assessments to safeguard our infrastructure.
  4. Deploy Security Solutions: Oversee the deployment of security solutions, working closely with internal teams to strengthen our defences.
  5. Collaborate with External Security Partners: Collaborate with external security partners to ensure high-quality support and proactive risk management.
  6. Report Security Metrics: Regularly report on security metrics and provide insights to senior management.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Security Lead who has:

  • A professional certification such as CISSP, CISM, or similar.
  • Significant experience in cybersecurity management, ideally within a medium-to-large organisation.
  • Extensive knowledge of security technologies, risk assessment, and vulnerability management.
  • Hands-on experience with security monitoring tools and incident response.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and NIST frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to explain technical matters to non-technical stakeholders.

The estimated salary for this position is up to £75,000 + Bonus, depending on experience.
