Care Support Assistant - Learning Support Assistant

The Academics school provides a unique, specialist environment that closely fits the needs and challenges that the students face.

The school offers a highly specialised curriculum which aims to ensure all pupils can reach their potential.

The students' needs include Autism, Downs Syndrome, communication needs and they do require high levels of care and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with complex learning needs in a specialist secondary school environment
  • Work closely with a team of therapists, including SALTs, Occupational therapists, psychologists and counsellors
  • Implement effective communication techniques to support students with varying abilities

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a care or learning support role
  • Desirable: psychology degree or specialist SEN training
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
