Job Title: Primary School Teaching Assistant for Student with Autism

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teaching assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a girl in year 1 who has a diagnosis of Autism (ASD) and limited speech. The student is developing communication skills and requires individual support to ensure their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide individual support to the pupil with Autism (ASD)
* Help implement and follow the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and behaviour management strategies
* Facilitate the child's communication and language development through alternative communication methods
* Collaborate closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to plan and adapt activities to meet the pupil's specific needs
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil, promoting their social integration with peers
* Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, providing regular feedback on the child's progress

Requirements:

* Relevant experience supporting children with Autism (ASD) or similar special educational needs
* Knowledge with challenging behaviour, including behaviour management techniques and the ability to adapt them to meet individual needs
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
