Senior Mental Health Specialist

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced clinical psychologist to fill the position of Principal Psychologist. This role will involve providing specialist expertise in complex cases within the secondary care adult psychological therapies service. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading Bury Secondary Care Psychological Therapies Service and working closely with other teams to ensure effective care for patients with complex mental health needs.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Bury Secondary Care Psychological Therapies Service and working closely with other teams to ensure effective care for patients with complex mental health needs. This includes providing clinical leadership and supervision to colleagues, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to offer consultation and reflective practice, and supporting the development of psychologically healthy systems within the service. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to have a desire to support and lead a team through change using a trauma-informed framework and commit to quality improvement in psychological services through multi-professional evaluation and audit.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a doctorate-level training in clinical or counselling psychology, including specific models of psychopathology, clinical, psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies, and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a practitioner psychologist is also essential. Furthermore, the successful candidate should have significant experience of working as a qualified psychologist, demonstrable experience of working as a highly specialist psychologist with complex adults, and experience of working with service users who are complex and challenging within a community and/or acute care pathway. They should also have experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for psychological care and treatment as an autonomous practitioner with complexity within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan. A salary of approximately £80,000 - £100,000 per annum is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
