Job Title: Electrical and Mechanical Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical and Mechanical Technician to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a range of assigned front-line maintenance and operational activities on our sewage pumping stations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform planned and preventative maintenance on sewage pumping stations to support the operation of our assets.
  • Respond to emergency alarms and perform repairs as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation of our pumping stations.
  • Participate in a 1 week in every 6 weeks out of hours emergency standby rota.
Requirements:
  • ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G level 3 in Electrical engineering.
  • A valid driving license is essential.
  • Previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, with an 18th Edition qualification beneficial.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial.
  • Be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems ideally working in a "true multi-skilled" capacity.
  • Be a self-motivated individual.
  • Take Ownership of responding quickly to faults, being curious to comprehend the problem fully, and identifying the best solution to resolve it the first time.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to interact with the team.
  • Deliver exceptional service through a passionate and positive approach, taking accountability for your role while working accurately and flexibly within a busy team.
  • Be a team player – We are one team, and our end goals are the same.
  • Proactive – take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site and convey them effectively.

  • Offering base salary up to £39,000 per annum plus standby & overtime opportunity increasing earning by potential £8,000 - £10,000.
  • 24 days holiday per year increasing to 28 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
