About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Business Partner to join our team at Systems Engineering and Assessment Limited. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between finance and operations, providing support to operations by transferring raw technical data into usable financial information and financial reports for the finance department and wider business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Director to create spreadsheets, dashboards, and reporting functionality to meet the evolving business needs
  • Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support business decision-making
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business strategy and planning
  • Collaborate with production and procurement teams to establish standard costing, purchase and material price variance analysis
  • Work with the operations director to understand productivity of the shop floor and justify investment in machinery and facilities as required
  • Oversight of the financial management of company inventory, ensuring regular physical checks (cycle counting) and appropriate valuation, obsolescence reviews, and provisioning
  • Responsibility for the financial integration mapping of all transactions within the ERP system
  • Supporting with lease/buy, make/buy, and utility contract decisions
  • Providing support to the statutory financial audits
Requirements
  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • CIMA/ACCA qualified
  • Experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a track record of identifying issues and delivering solutions
  • Ability to change data into information for management
  • You will be an advanced Excel user and be fully competent in higher-end functions, including creating dashboards
  • Experience in preparation and presentation of BI data in Excel for senior management teams
