About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mammography Specialist to join our team at GenesisCare UK. As a key member of our breast imaging team, you will play a vital role in supporting the detection of breast tissue abnormalities through mammographic imaging studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mammography studies, positioning breasts, adjusting compression mechanisms, and instructing patients to hold their breath.
  • Minimize radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques.
  • Maintain production and quality of mammograms by following established standards and procedures.
  • Ensure operation of mammography equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Keep mammography supplies and patient drapes ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and collecting and processing laundry.
  • Document patient mammogram services by completing patient record charting.

Requirements:

  • Post-qualification experience in mammography or a related field.
  • Experience in/understanding of UK diagnostic radiography.
  • Desirable - Varied experience within all aspects of radiography, including general, CT, MRI, and US.
  • Evidence of effective staff liaison and co-operative working.
  • Evidence of empathetic and a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Experience in private health sector.
  • Experience with resolving complaints satisfactorily.
  • Some knowledge of report writing.
  • Evidence of effective organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Able to make independent judgments/decisions and solve problems.
  • Able to work flexibly to achieve GenesisCare business objectives.
  • Able to act as a trainer and mentor for new/more junior staff.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • DCR (T) or BSc (Hons) in Radiography (or equivalent).
  • HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
