Job Summary:

The Estate Management Specialist will report into the Manager and be required to utilize their landlord and tenant knowledge and technical expertise to ensure the Council estate is managed according to landlord and tenant laws. The specialist will undertake property contact negotiations to obtain agreed terms, instruct legal, and ensure the completion of the tenancy agreement. Thereafter, they will maintain ongoing effective relationships to achieve the corporate outcome.

Key Duties/Accountabilities:
  • Delivery of a case load as agreed with the Manager and with support from the Senior/Principal surveyor.
  • Negotiate rent reviews and calculations.
  • Negotiate lease and licence terms.
  • Manage lease assignments, licence for alternations, easements, wayleaves, and other general estate management contractual negotiations as directed through to completion.
Essential Experience Required:

Property inspection including basic building pathology. Landlord and Tenant experience including lease renewals, rent reviews, assignments, VOA awareness, lettings, licences to alter, assignment, and changes of use, purchase, and sale of land and property.

Essential Qualifications Required:

A good standard of education and evidence of continuing professional development in property surveying or a similar discipline.

Additional Information:

37.5 hours per week.

12 days in the office per week.

The Estate Management Specialist will be required to demonstrate evidence of IT literacy, including a sound knowledge of tasks, systems, databases, etc. and proven ability to manage a range of conflicting work demands and pressures.
