Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Wigan

Salary: £40,000

A well-established environmental services company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to work in a busy 24/7 processing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, examining and fault-finding on plant equipment, and performing servicing activities on the waste plastic sorting site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out maintenance activities efficiently and effectively
  • Examine and fault-find on plant equipment to minimize downtime
  • Perform servicing activities on the waste plastic sorting site to ensure optimal performance
  • Ensure health and safety, environmental compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement in operations, plant, and equipment availability
  • Carry out replacement, repair, and installation work to required standards

Requirements:

  • Engineering qualifications: NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Maths and English qualifications: Minimum GCSE or equivalent
  • Experience with lifting, slinging, and mechanical lifting aids, particularly in process plant-based environments with large and heavy components
