Prison Healthcare Specialist Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Durham, providing high-quality care to patients within our prison healthcare service.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive health assessments, diagnoses, and referrals, as well as prescribing medications and treatments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care, including health assessments, diagnoses, and referrals
  • Prescribe medications and treatments, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs and preferences
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of best practices and policies

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with NMC
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent
  • V300 Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification
  • Experience working in a primary or emergency care setting, with a focus on substance misuse
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Location

This role is based in Durham, with easy access to Sunderland, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Peterlee, Consett, Spennymoor, Newton Aycliffe, and Hartlepool.
