Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our team at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in collecting high-quality blood samples from patients, which are essential for medical investigations and diagnosis.

Main Responsibilities

As a Phlebotomist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting blood samples from patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, community clinics, and outreach locations.
  • Ensuring that all blood samples are handled and transported safely and efficiently.
  • Working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
  • Providing excellent communication and interpersonal skills to patients, families, and colleagues.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant qualification, such as an NVQ or QCF level 2 in a related subject, or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a phlebotomy role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Arrangements

This is a full-time role, working a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. You will be required to work at various locations, including Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital in Stafford.
