Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Nurse Practitioner to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals, providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in need.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing, with experience working with vulnerable children and young people. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with children, young people, and their families, ensuring that they receive the best possible care and support.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. To undertake comprehensive health assessments for children and young people in care, aged 0-17 years, living within Berkshire and its surrounding areas.
  2. To provide expert advice and guidance on plans of care for these young individuals, ensuring their needs are met and their wellbeing is prioritized.
  3. To develop and deliver health promotion programs, focusing on key issues such as sexual health, contraception, smoking, diet, exercise, and other relevant topics.
  4. To manage a caseload of children and young people in care, working closely with social care services to ensure seamless delivery of care.
  5. To participate in ongoing training and professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in caring for children and young people in need.
  6. To contribute to interagency assessments and analysis of risk, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people involved.
  7. To engage with children and young people in feedback and engagement activities, informing service development and improvement.
  8. To work collaboratively with the wider team to enhance clinical practice, using data and findings to drive positive change.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of postgraduate experience as a Children's Community Nurse, Health Visitor, or School Nurse in a community setting.
  • Proven experience working with vulnerable children and young people, including those with complex needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, young people, and their families.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, with the ability to identify and report concerns.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including travel within Berkshire and its surrounding areas.

Working Arrangements:
