About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Mental Health Practitioner to join our Berkshire CAMHS Anxiety Disorders Treatment Team (ADTT).

The successful candidate will provide high-quality assessments and treatments for young people with anxiety disorders, OCD, and Tic disorders. They will also support young people waiting for treatment to start.

We are open to considering either full or part-time hours for the right candidate.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct specialist assessments and develop a clear and detailed formulation of children and young people's presenting difficulties and/or systemic issues present.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings and needs, in collaboration with child and family, to support recovery and improve quality of life.
  • Provide support to young people and families who are waiting for treatment to start.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team clinicians and multi-agency representatives to ensure the delivery of integrated and holistic client care.
  • Actively engage in the quality improvement and service development of CAMHS services.

Requirements

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (NMC), or
  • Occupational Therapy degree level qualification
  • Registered Social Worker with relevant social work qualification,
  • Other Health professional with relevant postgraduate qualification.
  • Registered and accredited with Health Care Professional Council (HCPC) or with BABCP as appropriate
Continuous Professional Development

  • Evidence of training and/or interest and knowledge in therapeutic approaches relevant to the post.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development as recommended by the relevant accrediting body
Experience

  • Experience of working in evidence-based ways in child mental health settings (and their carers/families)
  • Experience of dealing with highly distressing or emotional circumstances, such as serious mental illness, child and sexual abuse, exploitation, and complex family dynamics
  • Experience of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and multi-agency environment
  • Experience of managing complex caseloads and applying a range of interventions
  • Experience of working with, and addressing issues of diversity, including experience of working with diversity, multiculturalism, and equality of access to service.
