Steelwork Engineer Job Description

Westlakes Recruit is seeking a skilled Steelwork Engineer to join our team. As a Steelwork Engineer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality steelwork platform designs that meet Eurocode3 and ETC-C standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain client QA procedures to ensure delivery of SW designs
  • Collaborate with CAD designers to prepare design drawings and models
  • Manage engineering changes in line with company procedures
  • Resolve technical issues and verify input data consistency
  • Produce deliverables, including assumption notes, technical specifications, and calculation notes
  • Coordinate CAD design and perform design activities for fastenings and anchorages in concrete
  • Develop substantiation reports and complete surveillance of applicable technical documents
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Eurocodes related to civil engineering, particularly design of fastenings and anchorages in concrete
  • Knowledge of reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete structures design
  • Design of seismically classified steel platforms and structures from concept to detailed design delivery
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling and structural analysis tools
  • Knowledge/Understanding of PWRs is an advantage
  • Understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations
  • Experience in the nuclear sector and plant layout engineering is advantageous
