Job Title: Community Development and Social Services Coordinator

Barnardo's Scotland is looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Community Development and Social Services Coordinator.

About the Role:

In this critical position, you will play a key role in developing and implementing community-based initiatives that address the needs of vulnerable children and young people.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with community stakeholders, professionals, and young people. They will also be knowledgeable about child exploitation and have experience working in a similar setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, professionals, and young people to develop and implement community-based initiatives that address child exploitation.
  • Provide education and awareness-raising to community members, parents/carers, and professionals about child exploitation and its impact.
  • Support young people to access local services and provide emotional and practical support as needed.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will require a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above (for example SVQ3 children and young people) and an HNC in social services. Experience working in a similar setting and knowledge of child exploitation are essential.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is £28,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes 26 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, and access to a Group Personal Pension with a matched 4% or 6% contribution from Barnardo's.
