Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our team in the Cardiac Day Unit at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

The Cardiac Day Unit is a dynamic and expanding department, and this is an excellent time to join our team as we continue to develop and improve our services.

As a Staff Nurse in the Cardiac Day Unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of patients, including those undergoing procedures such as transoesophageal echo and cardioversions.

You will be working collaboratively with our experienced cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to our patients.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work under the indirect supervision of the Nurse Team Leader and undertake tasks and duties delegated by the Nurse Team Leaders or a suitably qualified regulated professional.
  • Collaborate with the cardiology team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures.

Person Specification
  • Diploma in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse (Level 1)
  • ENB 998 or equivalent
  • Previous experience at Band 5
  • Desirable criteria:
  • Experience of teaching students, HCA's and qualified staff
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge
  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients, relatives and the multi-disciplinary team in English.
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
  • Competency in IV drug administration
  • Knowledge of the role of a Band 5 Staff Nurse
  • Knowledge of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act
  • Desirable criteria:
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to work all shifts including night duty
  • Self motivated
  • Good time management skills
