Rail Grinder Fitter Job Description

At ENGINEERINGUK, we're seeking a skilled Rail Grinder Fitter to join our team. As a Rail Grinder Fitter, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our rail grinding machines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain rail grinding machines to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Assess work requirements and develop plans to meet specifications while maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Collate data output from machines and report any defects to supervisors.
  • Work safely and effectively to Colas Rail Services Operations procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining quality systems, machine safety packs, and stabling database.
Requirements:
  • Recognised formal apprenticeship in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
  • Core competencies of Foundation Course, Machine Setup, and Pack away for Operation Grinding Railgrinding maintainer for Operations/Maintenance competence matrix.
  • Driving Licence.
  • PTS.
  • Fire Training.
  • Emergency First Aid.
  • Depot/Yard Inductions.
  • Basic Laser Safety.
  • COSS.
