Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rail Grinder Fitter to join our team. As a Rail Grinder Fitter, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our grinding machines, ensuring safe and effective operation, and adhering to our health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain grinding machines safely and effectively, as instructed by the Grinding or Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assist in maintaining quality systems, machine safety packs, and stabling database by continually monitoring, reviewing, and making recommendations for updating as required.
  • Collate data output from the machine where applicable.
  • Work safely and effectively to Colas Rail Services Operations procedures.
  • Assist as required.

Requirements

  • Recognised formal apprenticeship in Mechanical / Electrical engineering.
  • To have achieved the core competencies of Foundation Course, Machine Setup and Pack away for Operation Grinding Railgrinding maintainer for Operations /Maintenance competence matrix.
  • Driving Licence.
  • PTS.
  • Fire Training.
  • Emergency First Aid.
  • Depot /Yard Inductions.
  • Basic Laser Safety.
  • COSS.
