Role Overview
Hospital Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocates provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse. This role is ideal for someone with excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills who can deliver a premium service prioritized according to risk.

The successful candidate will work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse. They will also be comfortable running group training sessions and sharing their specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse.
  • Work within a multi-agency framework to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
  • Deliver group training sessions and share specialist knowledge with acute staff.

Requirements
  1. Knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
  2. Good understanding of domestic and sexual abuse including the impact on victims and their children.
  3. Understanding of risk assessment, safety planning, and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children.
  4. Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
  5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

Salary Information

We are offering a competitive salary of £21 per hour based on 37.5 hours per week. The rate may be negotiable depending on experience.
