Job Title: Procurement and Stock Management Pharmacist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled pharmacist to join our pharmacy team as a Procurement and Stock Management Pharmacist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy procurement and stock management, with excellent communication and leadership skills.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to take on a challenging role within our pharmacy team. As a Procurement and Stock Management Pharmacist, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that medicines are always available for our patients.

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for managing the procurement process, including reviewing items owing to other pharmacy areas, ordering stock when necessary, and arranging alternative products.
  • Assist the Chief Pharmacists with recruitment, return to work, annual leave allocation, and annual appraisal of delegated staff.
  • Support effective stock control through appropriate procurement within Pharmacy.
  • Assist in the management of reviewing drug alerts from the MHRA, pharmaceutical industry, and other agencies.
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of unlicensed policy and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Current knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice
  • Experience of training staff
  • Detailed pharmacy technical knowledge including Law & Ethics pharmacy practice
  • Awareness of opportunities for extended roles for pharmacy technicians and support staff
  • Experience of unlicensed medicines policies and procedures

Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Location: Derby and Burton
