About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Education Manager to join our team at HMP Bronzefield, the largest women's prison in Europe. As an Education Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the Learning & Skills Department by improving educational provision while ensuring challenging Service Delivery Targets are met annually.

The successful candidate will lead, train, and guide curriculum tutors and peer workers towards outstanding performance, providing prisoners with educational opportunities that help them develop skills for successful reintegration into society and reduce the risk of re-offending.

">Main Responsibilities">
  1. ">
  2. Develop and review syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies, assessments, and teaching and learning strategies within the department.">
  3. Oversee the day-to-day management, control, and operation of course provision, ensuring effective deployment of staff and physical resources.">
  4. Actively monitor learner attendance and progress by analysing performance data, taking follow-up actions as needed.">
  5. Stay informed about national developments in subject areas, teaching practices, and methodologies, providing training to staff during CPD sessions.">
  6. Teach up to 50% of the working week, delivering English and maths to Level 2, including embedded English and maths.">

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • A full teaching qualification (QLTS).">
  • A recognised Level 4 qualification or higher in basic/functional skills English or maths.">
