Academic Leader for Assessment Processes

We are seeking an Academic Leader for Assessment Processes to join our team at GBS Global Applied Knowledge. As an Associate Dean, you will play a key role in ensuring the assessment processes maintain a high-quality standard across all campuses.



Main Responsibilities


  • Work with the Dean, Associate Deans, Programme and Cohort Leaders, and other departments to ensure that all aspects of the assessment processes meet the expected standards.
  • Lead the assessment process on a day-to-day basis in collaboration with the Dean, Associate Dean, PLs, Cohort Leaders, and other departments.
  • Support, train, and develop the team members within the faculty with respect to assessment practices and procedures.
  • Liaise with the PLs, Cohort Leaders, and Head of Student Success Tutors to ensure students' support activities and administration tasks are completed on time.
  • Plan, organise, and monitor the successful execution of the schedule of assessment requirements, including moderation and verification processes.
  • Provide accurate information and advice on GBS and regulators' assessment policies, regulations, and processes.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of policy and procedure.
  • Ensure service standards and compliance with GBS and Regulators' policy and practice within the Assessment Requirements.
  • Work across sites as required and on occasion work in the evening and weekends where necessary.
  • Undertake other administrative work as may be required from time to time.


Requirements


  • Applicants should have an appropriate qualification that can demonstrate very substantial experience as an academic manager.
  • Relevant experience of quality assurance within a qualifications/training environment.
  • An understanding of faculty qualifications, requirements, and valid assessment.
  • A quality mindset with a passion for accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Substantial breadth of experience in the higher education sector at academic manager level.
  • Substantial experience in planning and delivering challenging academic targets.
  • Senior leadership experience in teaching and administrative strategic priorities.
  • Evidence of a significant and sustained personal track record of success in developing and leading initiatives to achieve academic excellence.
  • Evidence of excellent and effective communication skills appropriate to operating at a strategic level.
  • Evidence of the necessary interpersonal skills required to galvanise, revitalise, and lead the staff of the department.
  • A clear personal enthusiasm and commitment to the strategic priorities in the GBS strategic plan.
  • Adaptable - ability to work independently and adjust working style to suit the needs of different targets.
  • Be willing to undertake travel across the UK, which may involve occasional overnight stays.
