Production Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join our client, a global Aerospace and Defence manufacturer based in Greater Manchester. This permanent role will provide technical support for products within the Operations function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical engineering input within Operations (Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain).
  • Support the technical justification for change control within an Operations environment.
  • Support the supply chain function with technical queries.
  • Support the Engineering (NPI) function with change control feedback.
  • Present change control technical rational into the Engineering Design Authority.
  • Implement fresh, cost-effective, best practice technological methods to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • An experienced engineer from a similar industry, able to demonstrate multi-functional engineering competence.
  • Solid understanding of Lean Principles and process variation (Green Belt desirable).
  • Solid understanding of Core Manufacturing tools and ability to implement - OEE, Value Stream Mapping, Continuous improvement methods i.e. Kaizen.
  • Solid understanding of APQP to assist members of the NPI Team.
  • Qualified to a minimum of HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with previous experience in electronic manufacturing (Aerospace industry experience is highly desirable).
  • Ability to problem-solve a wide range of technical issues (Mechanical, Electrical & Process).
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Proactive approach to preventing failures within Customer/Production - PFMEA or Ishikawa.
