About the Role:

The Aspire Training Team is seeking a punctual, reliable, and enthusiastic individual to complete a Level 3 Early Years Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship at one of our nurseries as a Baby Room Manager.

About the Nursery:

Our nursery has a warm, family-oriented atmosphere, with a homely feel and three individual rooms to cater to all children's needs, helping them to flourish and develop in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.

We have two lovely garden areas for playing and exploring, as well as digging and growing, building children's physical confidence and environmental knowledge, and allowing for outdoor creativity.

Our Team:

We have a dedicated and passionate staff team whose priority is to ensure a safe and secure environment, build good relationships with both children and parents, and support children to achieve, ready for 'big school' ahead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the Policies & Procedures of the nursery, ensuring compliance with the Children Act 2006, Health and Safety Legislation, and all requirements and guidance laid down by Ofsted and the EYFS.
  • Work together as part of a team for the good of the nursery and the children.
  • Be responsible primarily for the care and supervision of pre-school key children, in regard to their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs, keeping daily journals, observations, and development records, and ensuring that children's behaviour is managed in a positive way.
  • Plan and prepare activities to meet children's individual needs.
  • Use play and interactive activities to develop language and vocabulary, introduce scientific and mathematical concepts, and improve social skills.
  • Combine play and interactive activities with an increasing focus on early academic learning, including letter recognition, phonics, numbers, and an awareness of science and nature.
  • Plan, develop, and implement the daily work schedule and lesson plans in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Plan and use creative and practical skills to prepare inspiring learning materials.
  • Plan indoor and outdoor activities to provide a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Liaise with parents to ensure effective communication within the nursery in a professional and clear manner.
  • Ensure that children within the nursery have equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background, and challenge situations where racism or discrimination is displayed.
  • Maintain the preparation, care, cleanliness, and maintenance of the playrooms and equipment, bringing any faults to the attention of the Deputy or Nursery Manager.
  • Assist with the supervision and effective mentoring of Nursery Assistants and Students, and provide a good role model for Nursery Assistants and Students, helping them to feel welcome and fit into the nursery.
  • Keep and monitor accident and incident records in accordance with the nursery's policies and procedures.
  • Supervise mealtimes, ensuring that all eating preferences and food allergies are adhered to, and, where appropriate, prepare babies' bottles.
  • Assist with laundry and dishwashing duties when required.
  • Assist with staffing in other nurseries as and when required.
  • Attend staff meetings as arranged by the Nursery Manager.
  • Participate in regular parents' evenings, publicity, open weekends, and children's outings.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification
  • GCSE's A*-C/4+ in English Language and Maths, or equivalent i.e. functional skills
  • Must obtain a clear DBS

Working Hours:

  • Duchess Nursery is open between the hours of 08:00-18:00 Monday-Friday
  • Working hours will be 40 hours per week between 08:00-18:00

  • £250.00 starter bonus and another £250.00 and again at 3 months
