Job Title: Dietitian - Specialist Oncology

We are seeking an experienced and driven Dietitian to join our team at the Christie Hospital, a world-class cancer centre. As a Specialist Oncology Dietitian, you will play a crucial role in providing expert nutritional support and dietary education to patients with Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) cancer.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to band 6 dietitians and students.
  • Develop and implement nutritional care plans for UGI patients, prioritizing patient-related and professional demands.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide expert advice on nutrition and cancer care.
  • Design and deliver education and training sessions on nutrition and specialist dietetics to healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to research and audit projects, presenting findings locally, nationally, and internationally.

Person Specification:
  • BSc Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent qualification.
  • Clinical supervision training and experience.
  • Post-graduate specialist counselling skills course in oncology or bereavement counselling.
  • Extensive experience in UGI cancer, acute oncology, and palliative care.
  • Leadership skills and ability to integrate well into teams.
  • Sound knowledge of current issues relating to cancer and nutrition support.
