Job Title: Specialist Dietitian Surgery/Oncology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Dietitian Surgery/Oncology to join our team at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing expert nutritional care and management to patients with cancer, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert nutritional care and management to patients with cancer, including assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized nutrition plans.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Conduct nutritional assessments and provide recommendations for patients with cancer, including those undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.
  • Develop and implement nutrition education programs for patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care, including medical, surgical, and psychological support.
Requirements:
  • Registered Dietitian with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a related field.
  • Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting, preferably in a cancer or oncology department.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of autonomy and flexibility.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
