Purchasing Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our team at SeAH Wind. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Buyer and Procurement Manager in the procurement of commodities, including raw materials and energy-related consumables and materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the procurement process by interacting with Receiving, Inventory, and related resources to minimize lost or misused materials and associated costs.
  • Plan, execute, and provide purchase requisitions and purchase orders to suppliers for materials, parts, supplies, and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner, while maintaining quality standards and specifications.
  • Match receivers and invoices to purchase orders for accurate A/P billing.
  • Maintain all procurement files and ensure system compliance.
  • Place and record purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of materials, products, processes, and suppliers.
  • Ensure controls have been carried out and stock records are up to date.
  • Update and maintain a stock database with costs and supplier information, including developing Bill of Materials (BOM) calculations and updates for all products.
  • Assist with production planning, pairing material requirements with projects.
  • Enact cost reduction analysis across materials and services.
  • Assist with the development of and transition to potential new internal systems.
  • Ensure the procurement program is adhered to.
  • Attend handover meetings to ensure supplier procurement is carried out in line with Production Team requirements.
  • Maintain a detailed rolling work schedule.
  • Update supplier data-base as required.
  • Adopt a pragmatic, yet disciplined approach to process compliance.
  • Work within a collaborative culture.
  • Stay abreast of market developments, demand trends, and risks, and ensure client requirements are understood for the benefit of our clients and projects.
  • Deliver added value through technical competence, functional knowledge, and process efficiency.
  • Ensure all documentation is collated and stored in line with company policies.
  • Carry out any reasonable request of a similar nature as directed by Senior Management.
