The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Programme Manager to lead the delivery of one or more programme work-streams in order to meet business objectives.

The role will involve managing and delivering projects across various business, operational, and IT change areas.

You'll be:

  • Leading projects or work streams within larger programmes, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and plan execution.
  • Developing and shaping the project approach.
  • Applying appropriate project management methods, including planning, scheduling, monitoring, and managing risks and issues.
  • Identifying root issues and capturing lessons learned at each stage.
  • Establishing and managing effective project teams, including recruiting, development, management, and motivation.
  • Managing budget reporting, forecasting, and expenditures for projects.
  • Planning and managing resources needed for project delivery, including developing contingency plans.
  • Contributing to selecting and managing relationships with technical partners, software vendors, and contract agencies.
  • Maintaining good relationships with stakeholders and key customers, ensuring project delivery meets their requirements.

You should have:

  • Proven experience in delivering large projects and programmes.
  • Skilled in managing and motivating both specialist and non-specialist staff.
  • Experience in handling medium to high-scale and/or medium to high-risk projects, especially in commercial outsourcing or financial services.
  • Comfortable managing multiple cross-functional stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Versatile with a background in various disciplines and able to quickly learn new areas and build credibility with professionals from different fields.
  • Experience in leading business solution identification and project initiation.
  • In-depth experience in Life and Pensions operations, with a strong understanding of its internal functions.
