About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Project Engineer to join our Environment Business team. As a key member of our Operations Management Team, you will be responsible for leading on all design-related activities, working closely with the Pre-Construction team and a specific Operations Manager on their allocated programme of work.

You will work primarily on projects under the Midlands & West frameworks across Severn Trent and Welsh Water. Your key responsibilities will include developing strong working relationships with internal teams and external customers, applying CDM principles, coordinating design work by others on multi-disciplinary projects, and implementing Galliford Try's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Galliford Try's policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the design scope of works is understood.
  • Lead design meetings and ensure minutes are produced and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure delivery of design documentation in line with design and submissions programme.
  • Deal with enquiries from designers/supply chain/sub-contractors.
  • Implement best practice including BIM/Digital, DfMA & Standardisation, Carbon Reduction and Supply Chain Engagement.
  • Support the commercial relationships with customers, consultants, contractors and subcontractors during the tender and delivery processes.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant Standards and Specifications, identifying deviations from standards and innovations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work in conjunction with the preconstruction and delivery teams to promote integrated project delivery.

About You:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead Project Engineer who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service and has a strong understanding of design and construction programmes. You will have a good understanding of CDM principles, excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and strong organisational skills.

Requirements:

  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility around tasks.
  • Experience in D and D environment (desirable).
  • Good knowledge of CDM principles.

  • Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Good time management with ability to multitask.
