Job Title: Project Controls Lead

We're seeking an experienced Project Controls Lead to manage and oversee the delivery of pre-Construction P6 Programme, including constructability, construction phase preparation scheduling, costs control, and document management processes across mechanical, EC&I, and HVAC scopes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver pre-Construction and Project Execution phases
  • Develop and oversee Project Controls processes specific to the Contract, using AIMS and Client flow-down documents
  • Develop and manage standardised and structured P6 planning work packages, specific to the Contract
  • Oversee project-specific schedules that clearly identify project processes and linking of activities as required for multi-functional project team interfaces
  • Interface with Estimation for the compilation and maintaining of Planning 'norms' from statistical data
  • Develop the programme scope and schedule, ensuring alignment across the whole Mech, EC&I, and HVAC team, and Partner Contractors
  • Develop and manage standardised Cost Control processes to support reporting Internally and to the Client
  • Develop and manage standardised and structured Document Management systems specific to the Contract
  • Provide regular feedback to Project Management and Functions
Requirements:
  • Essential:
    • Time Served Apprentice / NVQ level 2 / C&G - and / or suitable experience in construction engineering
    • HNC/HND (or equal) in an engineering, QS, or Project Management discipline
    • Proficient in the use of management of teams, cost management, P6, and cost/resource loading scheduling techniques
    • Extensive knowledge and application of construction methodologies across MEH scopes
    • Commercial competence, e.g. experience in management of Variation and Claims management
    • Minimum of 5 years senior planning lead experience, with direct reports and supplier oversight
  • Preferred:
    • ECITB SMTDS / NVQ Level 3 or 4 ACE
    • Degree (or equal) in an engineering, QS, or Project Management discipline
    • APM/ACostE/ other accreditation / qualification or equivalent Engineering Institution
    • Previous Nuclear Construction Senior Delivery Role(s)
    • 5-10 years senior planning lead experience, with direct reports and supplier oversight
    • CCNSG Safety Passport Training / IOSH Managing Safety Certificate (shortform)
