About the School

It is an all-through school catering for students aged 8-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a supportive and understanding environment for pupils who face challenges in emotional and social development, helping them grow, learn, and build healthy relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist teachers in the delivery of tailored learning plans that meet the individual needs of each pupil.
* Support students\u2019 social and emotional development, helping them navigate challenges related to SEMH.
* Manage and respond to challenging behaviour, ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to monitor students\u2019 progress and adapt support where necessary.
* Promote inclusion and build positive relationships with pupils, helping them feel understood and supported.
* Contribute to the implementation of EHCPs, ensuring the specific needs of each pupil are met.

Requirements:

* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, ideally in an educational setting.
* A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to working with children who may display challenging behaviour.
* An understanding of conditions such as ADHD, ADD, attachment disorder, and anxiety disorders.
* The ability to work well within a team, as well as independently.
* Strong communication skills and a commitment to working with children with additional needs.
* Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable but not essential).
