Make a Difference in Dorset

We are seeking a dynamic Engagement Coordinator to join our team and contribute to our mission of improving health and wellbeing in Dorset.

This role offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with diverse communities, promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging people to take control of their own health.

About the Job:

  • You will build relationships with key stakeholder groups to promote LiveWell Dorset, raising awareness and service usage among target groups and under-represented communities.
  • You will represent the service at community events, setting up stands and speaking directly to the public, encouraging healthier lifestyle choices.
  • You will conduct virtual presentations and collaborate with community groups, charities, and other organisations.
  • You will maintain effective communication with stakeholders, adapting to different community needs to maximise service reach.

Your Requirements:

  • You will have a Level 2 Understanding Health Improvement or equivalent qualification.
  • You will possess strong literacy and numeracy skills, with GCSE English and Maths (A-C) as a minimum.
  • You will have proven experience in health promotion initiatives, including working with community organisations and providing one-on-one support.
  • You will be proficient in IT, including Word, Excel, email, and database management.
  • You will have excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a variety of audiences.
  • You will possess strong planning and organisational skills, with flexibility to work between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday, with some evening and weekend availability.
