About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Loungers. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food quality and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Develop and implement kitchen procedures to maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to create menus and manage inventory
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and ordering of ingredients and supplies
  • Manage kitchen staff schedules and rotas to meet business demands
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment and facilities to ensure optimal performance

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef/Assistant Kitchen Manager
  • Excellent chef/kitchen skills, including food prep, hot and cold, cleaning, knife skills, and good hygiene practices
  • Strong work ethic and ability to lead from the front, playing an active role in delivering excellent kitchen and food standards
  • Extremely driven and relentless in deconstructing the can't mentality
  • Familiar with KPIs and making decisions in the absence of the Head Chef, considering labour, stock, food safety requirements, and others
  • Epic communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders and build rapport and trust
  • Strong knowledge of best practice around rota scheduling, sales and labour forecasts, reporting, recruitment, HR, and training
