The University of Oxford is a world-renowned institution, and our Department of Computer Science is a leading centre of research and teaching. We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Finance Manager - General Ledger to join our team.

About the Role

As Deputy Finance Manager - General Ledger, you will be responsible for managing a team of four finance professionals, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial transactions. You will also assist the Deputy Head of Administration and Finance with budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Line management of four team members, including managing workloads, career development, and training
  • Quality assurance of financial transactions and adherence to University and departmental policies
  • Preparation of management accounts, including month-end procedures
  • Assisting the Deputy HAF with budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring financial performance throughout the year
Requirements
  • Studying towards an accountancy qualification such as ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or CIPFA, or a qualified accountant
  • Previous experience of a similar finance role, including line management
