Job Title: Deputy Finance Manager

Location: Wolfson Building, Parks Road, Oxford

The Department of Computer Science is consistently recognised as the internationally leading centre of research and teaching across a broad spectrum of computer science, ranging from foundational discoveries to interdisciplinary work with significant real-world impact.

The Deputy Finance Manager – General Ledger is a key role within the department, managing a team that delivers transactional finance support to teaching and research activities as well as departmental professional services teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Line management of four team members, including managing workloads, career development and training
  • Quality assurance of financial transactions and ensuring adherence to University and departmental policies
  • Preparation of management accounts, including month end procedures
  • Assisting the Deputy HAF with budgeting, forecasting and monitoring financial performance throughout the year
Requirements:
  • Studying towards an accountancy qualification such as ACA, CIMA, ACCA or CIPFA or a qualified accountant
  • Previous experience of a similar finance role, including line management

We are looking for a finance professional who will be a proactive team member, with an interest in delivering exceptional customer service.

This role also offers the opportunity for hybrid working two days per week.
