Communications Officer

Positive Employment is seeking a skilled Communications Officer to join our team. As a key member of our communications management team, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that drives engagement and awareness across various channels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and implementation of a communications plan that encompasses research, media, and public relations, marketing, internal communications, and digital communications.
  • Engage with local businesses and communities to promote the City Plan consultation and encourage participation.
  • Manage communications activities, budgets, and targets as part of an annual communications plan.
  • Work effectively with councilors and managers to identify and solve problems, evaluate communications methods, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Gain knowledge and understanding of other cross-organisation activities to provide appropriate communications support.
Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent academic achievement.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience working in a communications role.
  • Understanding of how the media, PR, and marketing industries operate.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of writing and implementing campaigns and project plans across an integrated marketing mix.
  • Excellent knowledge of local authorities, its structures, policies, procedures, processes, and how the Directorate works in partnership with others.
Working Hours:

09:00am - 17:00pm, Monday - Friday
